It’s finally that time: summer is here! Terraces are packed again, groups of students are gathering in the park, and dozens of boats are sailing the canals daily. 2. IJssalon Dam
At IJssalon Dam in Lombok, everything is homemade. You don’t just get a simple ice cream: the cones and the cups are gorgeous too. The variety of flavors is enormous, and the owner of the shop is also open to new flavor ideas! In addition, the parlor also gives ice cream making workshops, so if you’re hoping for a career in the ice cream industry, Ijssalon Dam in the place for you! Damstraat 43
3. Ijssalon Vorst
If you’re chilling in Willhelminapark, you can’t miss Jan Rudolf’s ice cream. At Ijssalon Vorst, all ice creams are made with fresh organic milk and feel like they come directly from the farm. 4. Venezia
The Venezia ice cream truck is all over the place in the center of Utrecht. You might just walk by it on the Oudegracht, or hear the loud bell coming from kilometers away in Griftpark. Venezia’s location is always a surprise, but thanks to its mobility it’s like Utrecht has suddenly transformed into Italy. The little truck has more than 30 flavors and can also be rented for special occasions!
5. IJssalon Roma
In Zuilen, IJssalon Roma has existed for more than half a century. The ice cream is made fresh daily and takes into account everyone’s wishes. So there’s gluten- and lactose-free ice cream, and even diabetics can come along for a delicious treat. There’s a new ice cream deal every day, which you can learn about via their website or app!
