The motto ‘If you do something, do it well’, goes for well for Spaghetteria as you can eat delicious freshly made pasta at the pasta-bar. At larger tables or the seats in front of the window, people can sit down and enjoy homemade pastas and delicious wines. The doors open at 17.00 and slowly the restaurant fills up with pasta lovers. Are you a bit later? Then you unfortunately you will have to queue. But luckily Spaghetteria always has a spot available quickly.
Bilstraat and Korte Koestraat
The restaurant on the Biltstraat is always full. I often had to queue to get a spot. But recently Spaghetteria opened a new location in Utrecht. In a side street of the Vredenburg, the Korte Koestraat you will find a slightly larger restaurant with the same tasty dishes as the restaurant on the Biltstraat. And for me closer to home and therefore ideal for an evening out after an some shopping in the city.
Small menu, but enough choice
The menu only has six pastas, yet it is difficult to make a choice. Because you rather prefer to taste them all. But because of the large portions of the dishes this is not possible. During my evening tasting at Spaghetteria I chose two half dishes. The first dish was pasta with Tuscan sausage with mushrooms, taggiasche olives, red onion and grana. Then I ordered the ravioli of radicchio, smoked provola and buffalo ricotta with butter and sage. Both dishes were delicious and are not comparable. But the ravioli is my favourite at the moment. The mighty taste of the radicchio in combination with the soft, slightly sweet butter is delicious.
The wine list is limited but all wines are carefully matched to the pasta dishes. The enthusiastic crew knows perfectly which wine suits your chosen dish best. Of course I ended the evening with a delicious tiramisu. And yes, I really can eat this on my own. Of course I also ordered a delicious espresso, there isn’t a more perfect ending to an evening.
Little Italy located at the Korte Koestraat
When leaving the restaurant there was a queue of people, fortunately they could wait inside in the front part of the restaurant for a spot. But soon you can also sit outside in the Korte Koestraat. Soon when the weather is warm this will be one of the busiest streets in Utrecht. Because who wouldn’t want to enjoy the sun under grape branches sipping a glass of wine? An evening at Spaghetteria is the perfect start of a great evening in Utrecht.
