The rooms lend themselves wonderfully to informal meetings: from networking or graduation drinks to family parties – so, enjoying in style. And the Caves Caroli are there for everyone. Suitable for various events
The tunnel vaults under Bistro Karel 5, where the Caves Caroli are located, were traditionally used as a kind of medieval fridge. Food and even brewed beer were stored here because it was always around 8 degrees – a considerable contrast to the warm atmosphere that the cellars have now. Three unique rooms have been created, each with its own tasteful interior: one is decorated like a bar, the next as a place to eat, and the final one as a lounge, which is also equipped with a TV. The rooms offer a lot of possibilities: you can book anything from drinks to an all-in dinner package for reasonable prices. That means that the caves are suitable for various events, with space for about 40 people per room.
An integral part of the city
The Grand Hotel’s beautiful building complex and courtyards emerged from an impressive renovation and opened its doors to the public in 1999. Since then, the successful 5-star hotel has become an integral part of the monumental Utrecht city center. It houses 121 tasteful hotel rooms and suites for luxurious overnight stays, Restaurant Karel 5 for elegant dining as well as the more casual Bistro Karel 5, a wellness center, and a truly beautiful courtyard with an inviting terrace.
