My favorite way to spend a picnic in Utrecht is to sit along the water after canoeing. At canoe rental Rijnstroom you can rent a canoe and sail up the water in the direction of the city or nature. Along the way you can stop your canoe on the water side and have a picnic on the grass, between the trees or at a picnic table. Haarzuilens
Haarzuilens is a place where you can walk, relax and have a picnic. Just outside the city, past Leidsche Rijn and next to Maarssen you will find this estate with a beautiful orchard. Under the fruit trees you can enjoy a delicious picnic. There are also nice treasure hunts with the theme: the fruit in the orchard. The location is a natural monument and is located on Thematerweg 10.

Wilhelminapark
You’d rather stay in town? Then go to the Wilhelminapark. Here you can relax among the green trees and lawns, overlooking the water. It can be very busy in the summer, but it has its charm. Bring your picnic basket and you’ll have a nice afternoon. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet some friends or you can join a (ball) game! You’ll be home soon and yet you have the feeling that you’ve really been out for a while.
