A bike ride to Restaurant Vroeg
This restaurant is not in Utrecht but in Bunnik, a town bordering Utrecht. Or more exact: on the road from Utrecht to Bunnik. Opposite of the estate in Amelisweerd where you can bike or walk trough beautiful green surroundings. When you visit Vroeg you can also stop by the new Waterliniemuseum.
Restaurant Vroeg looks like a farm house, but when you enter the building you will notice that it is modern with traditional details. This is the place you want to visit to enjoy a pitstop in nature. At Restaurant Vroeg (almost) everything is homemade. They have even won a price for the best bread! The flour for the bread comes from a mill in Utrecht. There is also a small shop where you can buy the homemade bread, mayonnaise, jams, juices and cakes. It’s a place to have breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner.
Dinner at Vroeg
Restaurant Vroeg offers a delicious menu for dinner. The ingredients they use in the kitchen are preferably local and vary with the seasons. As a main dish you can order vegetarian, meat or fish, and you can choose vegetables or salade on the side. They also serve their very tasty home made fries with mayonnaise (which you should taste!).
Funny and popular with cyclists: outside they have a hatch where they sell ‘friet met zuurvlees’. The bike ride is worth it!
