No need to buy a plane ticket to some for and beyond destination this summer, because I guarantee you will have a good time on our city beaches. On our city beaches you can stroll on the boulevard and have snacks and drink with your feet in the sand. Or dance the night away to the tunes of the resident dj. But where you should go? Try them all! It will be a busy summer. Have fun!
Strand Oog in Al
Also known as SOIA, is located along the Amsterdam- Rijnkanaal and was one of the first city beaches of Utrecht. You can hang around on fatboys, or take a seat at the bar or at one of the many tables in the restaurant. Of course the terrace would be an awesome spot for a beer, but you can also chill at one of the picnic table along the water. You can also practice yoga outdoors or show your moves on the beach until late at night. There are more than enough activities throughout the summer.

De Stadstuin
Located at the Europalaan, where you expect it the least, you will find De Stadstuin located in an old office building. The name is a bit misleading because it’s not just a garden – but also a city beach. At the back of this creative hub, with more than 100 start-ups, you will find the city beach. After you’ve been working you can hop down to the beach, take a seat on one of the fatboys with your feet in the sand, and a cold beer in your hands. Follow De Stadstuin on Facebook because they organize loads of events from Friday afternoon drinks, to comedy nights.

Key West Beachhouse
Key West Beachhouse is located at the Haarrijnse Plas. The lounge restaurant has a large beach terrace for about 100 sun worshippers. You can lounge on the terrace, or sunbathe on the beach and swim. Start the day early at Kew West because it can get pretty crowded on a sunny day. In the restaurant you can also enjoy lunch and diner.

Down Under
Watersport-fanatics can spend a whole day at Down Under. The waterpark is located near Utrecht – Nieuwegein – and is, even if you don’t like watersports, worth a visit. Down Under offers sports like: wakeboarding (which is high on our list.), waterskiing, bodyboarding and more. After a full day on the water you can hang and relax on the terrace or grass with a cold wine.
