If you follow me on Instagram you know I’m crazy about food and especially burgers. You can wake me up in the middle of the night for a juicy burger with bacon and fresh made fries. I always check the menu to see if a restaurant serves burgers and if they do I rarely order something else. This weeks top list is all about burger-bars! Meneer Smakers was the first burger-bar to open in Utrecht. I jumped for joy when I heard the news. I’m crazy mad for burgers! At Meneer Smakers you get the best burgers made of premium beef and delicious homemade fries. You can even choose a white or wholewheat bun. There are several different burgers on the very funny family menu. I recommend the misses Smakers spicy and juicy burger! Still need to try some more of the family members :–) Meneer Smakers on the Nobelstraat is a small burger-bar but luckily they have take away as well. The second bar is on Ledig Erf, this location offers more seats but still it can get very busy. For me Meneer Smakers is the number one burger-bar in Utrecht! Address: Nobelstraat & Ledig Erf.
Fa. Pickles is a burger bar slash wine bar. A great combo for a burger and wine lover like myself! No ordinary burger for Pickles: they are taking a chance by serving luxurious burgers. Next to a regular burger you can order a duck burger or a wagyu, truffle burger as well. Not a meat lover, no worries snacks and salads are also on the menu. Pickles interior is industrial, fun with a touch of colour. The picture of the pig on the wall reminds me of a butchers hop. You can dine at Pickles or order your burger to go, whichever you like depending on your mood. Pickles felt adventures and opened up a restaurant at the Markthallen in Rotterdam. You will find Pickles in Drieharingstraat 1-3 and at the Markthal in Rotterdam.
Burger Bar is a well known Burger-bar from Amsterdam and ventured to Utrecht this year! Its always crowded with people, so of course I had to go and taste the burgers. At the Burger Bar you can put together your own burger by choosing the amount of beef, toppings and sauce. The burger-bar has an American look and feel to it, looks like a diner. After some intensive shopping you can pop by the restaurant for a big bite. Address: Schoutenstraat.
Burgers you can almost order in every restaurant, not per-see only burger-bars, some of my favorite places are: Tastoe on the Zadelstraat, Restaurant BIS on the Lijnmarkt, Caffe 1976 on voor Clarenburg and Grand Cafe Lebowski on the Domplein.
