Evening of lights at Slot Zuylen: castle museum in the backyard of Utrecht!

Just a short 30 minute ride from the Dom city, along the Vecht lies the beautiful castle museum Slot Zuylen. (picture: www.donkerutrecht.nl)

Outside of Utrecht, along the Vecht in Oud-Zuilen, lies Slot Zuylen. The castle, is know for one of its famous resident author Belle van Zuylen, has been a museum for more then 60 years. Concerts, events and tours bring live back to the empty castle. On Saturday, September 26th a visit to the castle will be extra special, because it is the evening of lights. Outside will be lit by gorgeous lights giving the castle a fairy tale atmosphere. You can also have a look inside the castle itself.

Fairy tale lights at the castle

Along the very impressive event calender of the castle, Slot Zuylen organises the evening of the lights once a year. The third edition will be on Saturday, September 26th. Especially for this evening artist Arianne van Boxmeer created a fairy tail with her installation, called GLOWFIELD. Eighty luminous flowers will shine during the evening of the lights. This will illuminate an even more fairy tale like atmosphere with the gorgeous castle as a perfect setting. If you are looking to experience something special in a different setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the city we recommend a bike ride to Slot Zuylen.
