My favorite drink is the G&T! It’s the drink of all drinks to order when chilling on a terrace. The Gin & Tonic is a very popular mixed drink at restaurants and cafes. But where can you get a good G&T in Utrecht? It’s going to take me some time to be able to answer this question but, lucky for you, I’ve already started doing some “field research”. And in this post I report the first findings of the G&T test. So let’s start with five spots for a great Gin & Tonic in Utrecht.

Vredenburg Kade 11 | Opening hours: Mon to Fri from 09:00, Sat & Sun from 10:00

Restaurant Podium onder de Dom is a great spot for drinks! The restaurant in one of the best in Utrecht, but besides an awesome tasting dinner you can also enjoy great G&Ts in the lounge/bar. Pick one off the menu or let the bartender surprise you. Either way it’s guaranteed to be a special evening.

Domstraat 4 | Opening hours: Tues to Thurs 18:00 to 00:30, Fri 18:30 to 01:00, Sat 18:30 to 01:00

Van de Straat, located in Lombok, has a few Gin & Tonics on the menu that go very well with the dishes made in the green egg. Tip: ask for the trick with the rosemary branch. Smoking!

Surinameplein 5 | Opening hours: Mon to Wed 17:00 to 00:00, Thur 17:00 to 1:00, Fri to Sun 11:30 to 1:00

Restaurant Jozef , former Grand Café Maria, opened its doors very recently. On their terrace on the Mariaplaats, you can sit in the shade and enjoy a nice Gin & Tonic.

1) Hendriks with Fever Tree tonic and cucumber
2) Old gin with tonic and juniper berries

Mariaplaats 50 | Opening hours: Sun to Thur 8:00 to 01:00, Fri & Sat 8:00 to 02:00

Restaurant Opium serves Asian cuisine with a Western twist, which goes very well with a G&T. (Closed for now.)

Voorstraat 80 | Opening hours: every day from 17:00
