Anyone who’s up for an evening full of depth, science, and new perspectives should check out Studium Generale. Studium Generale is a public podium for knowledge and reflection, made possible by Utrecht University. The podium organizes different public events such as discussions, readings, talk shows, and films with inspiring scientists.
Studium Generale brings you an evening full of provocative questions and makes you think. The podium discusses different themes such as sustainability, films, criminality, and the economy; but also social problems like debt, economic inequality, and the dark side of social media. All of these themes are highlighted based on science and current social developments.
At Studium Generale, scientists, students, and other curious people get together and look for answers and perspectives together. The events are also a way to get to know different fields. In addition, entrance is free and doesn’t require reservation – yet more reasons to check it out!
Studium Generale ensures that you’ve learned a lot by the end of the evening. The podium discusses all types of subjects currently relevant in society, so you should recognize a lot of issues from your environment. And if you’re just in the mood for something other than going to the movie theater, café, or concert, Studium Generale offers a good and interesting alternative for the evening.
Most readings are held in the evening at the Academiegebouw on Domplein, or in the Boothzaal of the university library at the Uithof. So come take a look and let yourself be surprised by the inspiring subjects and scientists who are sure to give you a new perspective on different issues.
